GWM sold over 120,000 new cars in September

On October 8th, Great Wall Motors Co., Ltd. (stock codes 601633. SH, 02333. HK, 82333. HK; hereinafter referred to as "GWM") released production and sales data for September 2023. In September of this year, GWM sold 121,632 new cars with a year-on-year increase of 29.89%. From January to September, a total of 864,045 cars were sold.

 It is worth mentioning that GWM achieved collective and tiered growth in the first three quarters of 2023, with sales of 219,968 units in the first quarter; In the second quarter, sales reached 299,258 units, an increase of 36.05% month on month; The sales volume in the third quarter reached 344,819 units, a month on month increase of 15.22%. In the first three quarters of this year, GWM sold 170,346 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 75.77%; In the first three quarters, the sales of new energy vehicle models accounted for 12.64%, 21.86%, and 22.37% respectively, showing a rising trend, and the results of long-term strategy began to emerge.

On the basis of the high-speed "Triple Jumps", thanks to GWM’s intelligent new energy development strategy, the accelerated pace of overseas ecological development, and the growth of high-end models, the product lineup of GWM has realized a structural high-quality development. From January to September, the total export volume of GWM reached 211,696 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 89.45%; The sales of models priced over CNY 150,000 reached 179,665 units, a year-on-year increase of 98.49%, and the brand value continues to improve. In the first three quarters, the overseas sales of GWM accounted for 23.63%, 24.04%, and 25.45% with continuous growth. With the adjustment and upgrading of product structure, the continuous launch of star models, the accelerated expansion of sales network, and the deepening of global layout, GWM has accelerated its pace of development.

In the third quarter, the five major brands all achieved high-quality development and became popular benefit from the intelligent new energy strategy

HAVAL brand sold 73,766 vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 37%; Under the support of the intelligent new energy strategy, HAVAL sold 203,256 new cars in the third quarter, an increase of 22% month on month. The HAVAL brand delved deeply into the off-road field in the third quarter, and has successively released the 2024 HAVAL DARGO, which pioneered the "3/4 off-roader" and the new HAVAL H5, which is a "large all-purpose sheer SUV". The HAVAL Menglong, a new energy off-road popularizer, is also about to be launched on October 10th, leading the new energy off-road SUV into the era of the worldwide cars.

WEY New Energy sold 14,818 vehicles in the third quarter. Since its launch, the Blue Mountain DHT-PHEV, a six seater comfortable electric SUV, has continued to gain popularity, with cumulative sales exceeding 24,000 units. During the Chengdu Moto Show 2023, WEY Gaoshan DHT-PHEV officially opened for reservations and will be launched soon. As a "first-class cabin for the whole family", WEY Gaoshan will join with Blue Mountain to explore the high-end new energy market in the six or seven seats.

The ORA brand sold 10,021 vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 31.77%, with sales exceeding 10,000 for five consecutive months, making it a strong leader in the new energy female friendly segment. In the third quarter, the ORA brand welcomed the moment of 400,000 units, becoming the world's first female new energy vehicle brand to hold the record. It also released the 2023 ORA Ballet Cat, 2023  ORA 03, and the ORA 03 GT Mulan-Honorable models, with the aim of continuously revitalizing product quality and service ecology to create a better mobility experience for users.

TANK brands sold 18,054 units in September, a year-on-year increase of 43.15%. With the support of the mid to large luxury off-road new energy SUV TANK 500 Hi4-T and the popular new 2024 TANK 300, 104,545 TANKs were sold from January to September, a year-on-year increase of 17.22%; At the same time, the TANK brand achieved sales of 300,000 vehicles in just 33 months, setting a record for the fastest Chinese off-road brand to achieve sales of 300,000 vehicles and ranking first in the sales ranking of off-road SUVs in the Chinese market. In addition, the second model based on the Hi4-T architecture, the medium to large urban functional off-road SUV TANK 400 Hi4-T, was launched on September 25th to meet users' urban and off-road driving needs in all scenarios.

GWM pickup sold 17,197 units in September, with a cumulative sales of 152,674 units from January to September, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%. From January to September, the domestic market share of GWM was nearly 50%. The GWM POER sold 12,200 vehicles in September, with a cumulative sales volume of over 10,000 in 37 months, ranking first in China's pickup sales. In the third quarter, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the GWM POER brand, the 500,000 complete vehicles officially went offline, becoming the first Chinese high-end pickup brand to exceed 500,000 units, creating a new "GWM POER speed". The Shanhai POER Performance Edition, a large high-performance luxury pickup truck under the GWM POER brand, has launched its first desert test drive in Alxa after its global debut at the Chengdu Motor Show. It will provide more user and media experiences in mid October and launch  pre-sales in China.

On September 28th, the GWM off-road family gathered with three major brands, HAVAL, TANK, and GWM POER, at the 2023 Alxa Heroes Club. With its hard core strength and strong user appeal, thousands of car owners on site have formed the largest brand user group in the Alxa Heroic Club.

With continuous efforts on the intelligent new energy track, the sales channels of GWM have rapidly developed, with 1,056 new energy outlets in August and expected to grow to 1,200 within the year. The three major measures of products rejuvenation, channel expansion, and service upgrading are working together, and GWM’s intelligent new energy has entered a high-speed development stage.

GWM ushers in the fourth stage of high-quality overseas development featuring "One GWM"

In the third quarter, GWM sold 87,766 vehicles overseas, a month on month increase of 21.97%, with sales accounting for 25.45%; From January to September, GWM sold a total of 211,696 vehicles overseas, a year-on-year increase of 89.45%. While its sales have steadily increased, GWM has focused on "One GWM" and implemented the "Global Ecosystem" strategy to accelerate its overseas development.

In the third quarter of 2023, GWM accelerated its expansion of the "GWM" brand's international influence. In August, GWM successively launched the "GWM" brand in Vietnam and Indonesia, achieving comprehensive coverage of the core regional markets of ASEAN countries. In the Latin American region, the launch event of GWM brand and HAVAL H6 HEV was held in Mexico City, marking the official entry of GWM into the Mexican market.

Intelligent new energy products have landed overseas, igniting the global market. HAVAL H6, HAVAL JOION, HAVAL DARGO, ORA 03, TANK 300, GWM POER and other models have been launched in Cambodia, Vietnam, Brazil and other places, helping global sales continue to rise.

High value products have made breakthroughs by continuously going overseas. The GWM TANK 500 has been successively launched in the Middle East market in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain. In addition, in Central Asia, the TANK 500 launch event was held in Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan. In the ASEAN market, TANK 300 and TANK 500 have officially launched in Thailand.

The strategy of "Global Ecosystem" is accelerating its pace again, and overseas localized operations are taking root. GWM and Uzbekistan Automotive Group ADM Automobile Factory have officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on market development cooperation in Uzbekistan, further accelerating the development of GWM’s overseas localization production and sales.

GWM is accelerating its expansion into overseas markets and gaining recognition for its global brand image. On August 22nd, GWM became the official partner of the 2023 BRICS Summit on Vehicle and Media, fully demonstrating the global market's trust in "GWM". In the South Africa Bakkie of The Year selection, the GWM Off Road POER won the Best Pickup of the Year in the 100-120kW power category; In the annual "Best Buy" selection in Brazil, the HAVAL H6 New Energy won four annual awards and was selected as the " Highlight of The Year ".
